Mirthe Scheifes (1995) is a Dutch visual artist. In 2018, she graduated from the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Den Bosch (the Netherlands) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
In her graduation work she explores a new relationship between the (female) body and its surroundings.
The artist allows her body to become part of the environment so that it can become an object between other objects. With her work, she contributes to the post-humanist discussion and what it means to be human during the era of the Anthropocene.
Her graduation work got nominated for the Lucasprize and was presented at the Graduation Show Special of Metropolis M. She currently works and lives in Nijmegen.
